“What are the best hair products?” is a common question many women and men have. While many of us start with the smell and that’s not a bad place to start to story goes much deeper.

As a hair care manufacturer and distributor we have the opportunity to answer this question hundreds of times a week. And¦the answer generally depends on your hair type and with any specific problems you may be having with styling or your scalp.

Here are a couple of thoughts that can lead you in the right direction:

Dry Hair Dry, brittle, or damaged hair is usually the result of lack of moisture. Dryness can occur from the environment low humidity, heat damage from styling appliances, or from shampoos or conditioners that contain harsh chemicals. Dryness creates frizz, split-ends, and fly-away.

The Solution: Use a moisturizing shampoo with Emu Oil, Jojoba Oil and/or Panthenol. Each infuse moisture and help protect from damage caused by flat irons, curling irons and dryers. The added moisture adds body, volume and manageability while helping hair health with vitamins and nutrition.

Oily Hair While less common than chronic dryness, oily hair and scalp can be frustrating and sometimes embarrassing. Oily scalp is most often the result of “over-active” sebaceous glands. Sebaceous glands produce oil from the pores. This natural oil helps protect the follicle shaft; but, too much is too much, as they say!

The Solution: Use a shampoo formulated with Zinc or Zinc PCA. Zinc controls and regulates oil production from the glands. Natural-based products that use botanical extracts help soothe the scalp and reduce irritation or inflammation that may “excite” oiliness.

Breaking & Dullness Poor nutrition or damage are the primary culprits. Follicles are made of proteins which are based on amino acids. If your diet doesn’t provide adequate nutrition, minerals and amino’s needed for proper growth and development do not work their way into the follicle bulb or cuticle the result is snapping, breaking, and lack of shine and sheen.

The Solution: Supplement your diet with hair nutrition vitamins. They provide vitamins, minerals and select amino acids that will help your hair grow longer, thicker, stronger and shinier.

Fullness & Growth Slow growth, whether your hair is long, straight or curly, can be the result of several things. Thickness and volume for short or curly hair come from maintaining healthyfollicle structure and careful maintenance.
The Solution: For faster growing, thicker hair, use a shampoo and conditioner containing Trichogen. Trichogen is a common high-end product ingredient with 14 herbs and extracts. It is a common alternative to Minoxidil for thinning or loss, but has the added benefits of restoring thickness and control for all hair types.

Choosing the best hair products for your hair type and style make take a little time and experimentation, but the results are worth it – at least from the 100,000’s of customers we have worked with and, by the way, you can get something that smells great, too. Overall a great deal!
